What if I wrote a love poem? For nobody
I can’t even remember the last time, I wrote swoons
Since every time I begin to write romantically
I remember the times such prose got me in trouble
In shame, doubt, or humiliation
And recall all those other times
Never true love
Only naïve, shallow, lonely love
No, I don’t write love poetry anymore
I just write sonatas to life
Anthems to keep me going
Focus on me, myself, and I
Yet I know interwoven
In my introverted journeys of my mind and soul
Many figures and beings in my life
Changed, affected, influenced me deeply
So, I write love poems to everyone
I believe
I am not the only one searching for
Meaning, purpose, connection,
Peace, joy, passion, and forgiveness
Growth and a sense of self and foundation
A sense of control
I would like to believe
Materialism and physicality
Do not rule us all
That there are values in this world
Worth fighting for and living for
Life feels so fast paced at times
But then it slows down for the sweetest moments
These moments I have others to thank for
For sharing their hearts and minds with me
Letting go of our insecurities and hidden agendas
Letting our thoughts and feelings intertwine
Just enjoying each other’s company
Remembering once more what we are living for
Searching for
Tomorrow seems more bearable
Tomorrow we feel we can be better
Not give up on our dreams, strivings
Become the person we all see each other becoming
The very best of our self
That we can lose sight or hope of
Until someone else comes along
And shows us otherwise without pressure and control, but faith
So, I write a love poem to these moments, to the people
Who give me a break
Encourage me, forgive me
And enjoy the sweetness of life together
And remind each other of its very real existence

There seems to be a serious lack of people who are conscientious of what they say. I just about lost hope a couple of days ago, but upon reading your post I was reassured that there still exists people who believe in the craft of language and words. I'm very glad that you post your poetry here P! And how prolific you are! Thousands of years from now, aliens will find your poetry and their civilization will study your works. Keep up the posts!
