Apathy taking over sympathy
Weak to console
Weak to express your emotions
Clingy, overly dependent
If you actually care
If you are too helpful
Too interested
Yes, keep that straight face
Yes, keep all the doors and windows locked
Can’t trust anyone
Can’t let in anyone in
Then you won’t let anyone down
Then no one can let you down
Must be logical, conclusive
Because the risk is too great
Because truth can only be found
In what can be measured
Impossible
To overcome the flesh
No personal responsibility
All nature, no nurture
No self control
When perfectly mindful, aware
When willpower feels just as real
As anything else in this life
Impossible
To overcome weakness
To get out of town
To reach a little higher
It is said having a conscience is brutal
But its more brutal to be without conscience
And it will reveal itself into reality
Inflicting wounds and chaos
Unlike the everyday internal struggles
Of trying to be just, right, fair, logical
Of trying to reap peace, happiness, good
Like the muscle tears we can become internally stronger
With each struggle
Must not be politically incorrect
What you see is what you get
These cold hard facts...
No, I don’t believe it is that clear cut
That hopeless, that conclusive
Human adaptability, creation
Human connection, empathy
Just as natural and real as anything else
No there is nothing wrong with caring
With stating your opinion
Living your beliefs
So afraid of offending, of being sued
Of denying people their rights
So afraid of being blind and naïve
Not knowing the truth
Not knowing enough
Of not being right
Everyone is diverse and different
Free to express
To be an individual
At least in this fortunate country
Believe in learning, in change
The way it transforms
Potentials reaching, peaking
Unseen forces at hand
Intuition, emotion
Hope, faith
Willpower
Revelations, dreams
Discoveries
Love
Apathy to empathy
